MLS Medical Billing Services, Inc. has been in business since 1995, serving doctors in many specialties throughout New Jersey. We have steadily grown over the years with employees boasting diverse experiences in medical billing and reimbursement including practice management, medical coding, insurance-side claims processing, customer service, and records management. Most of our account managers are also multi-lingual in English and Spanish to better serve our clients' patient populations. Our staff is dedicated to making money for our clients through persistent follow-up and accurate billing.
President & CEO
Melinda began her medical-related career working in the medical records and coding department at St. Barnabas Medical Center in 1970. She later became a respiratory therapy technician. Melinda is married to a general, vascular, and bariatric surgeon and she managed his practice for 28 years. They have four children- 2 sets of twins-each set a boy and a girl. Their eldest son is a practicing physician and their eldest daughter is a successful defense attorney. Their youngest son is an accomplished chef and account manager at MLS, and their youngest daughter sidelined her real estate career to be MLS's main surgical biller and office manager.
Melinda founded MLS Medical Billing Services as she recognized the increasing demand for competent medical billing to providers within the New Jersey surgical community. As a practice manager and billing professional and wife of a doctor, Melinda understands first-hand the financial pressures placed on doctors and their families in the managed care environment. Melinda treats each of her clients as part of her own family, and has trained all of her staff to provide the same level of professional, personal, and caring attention that she would expect herself.

Our Staff
Coding/Billing/Posting/Office Manager
Elyse, Melinda's daughter, went tothe University of Richmond on a full tennis scholarship and graduated in 2003 with a BA in Communications. She has
been working on and off with MLS Medical Billing for over 15 years, and as of
January 2009 she has retained a full-time position as the main
surgical biller and office manager. Along with billing, Elyse also creates
all daily rosters for our clients, posts payments and denials for all surgeons’
accounts and distributes updates in the industry to the entire office.
Account Manager/Office Manager
Jordan, Melinda's son, is one of MLS's main account managers, managing several high volume accounts with great success. His ability to negotiate with insurance representatives and fight for what is right for his physicians shows in our client's reimbursements. He, along with his sister Elyse, plan on expanding MLS to become one of the biggest and most widely known Medical Billing Companies in the nation.
Account Manager
Robin joined MLS Medical Billing Services over 8 years ago. She manages over 7 accounts along with Dina, and together they are responsible for several surgical accounts. With her impressive knowledge of the appeals process and insurance procedures, she ensures that all clients will receive what is rightfully due.
Dina
Account Manager
Dina has been with MLS for over 11 years and is proficient in the area of general and vascular surgery account management. Her account management expertise has proved to be quite useful in managing her accounts along with Robin, and she has been impressing our clients for many years.
Cathy
Coding/Billing/Posting
Cathy has been with MLS for over 6 years and is our main OBGYN, Rheumatology, and Physiatry/Pain Management coder and biller. She is used to lots of volume and is extremely accurate. Thanks to her broad knowledge base of specific insurance requirements for her client's specialties, she assures all of her accounts will be reimbursed at the highest possible level.
Leo
Account Manager
Leo came to MLS over 8 years ago with several years of medical office management experience, and is also bilingual. Like her colleagues, Leo enjoys the MLS work environment and is committed to making money for her clients.
Edi Manager/Document Scanner
Bob came to MLS in July 2006 and is an integral part of MLS. He is responsible for scanning all new documents, including new patient data, EOBs, operative reports, etc. as well as managing all EDI reports. He reconciles EDI reports and alerts account managers and billers to EDI errors in a timely manner so that corrections can be made and claims resubmitted immediately.
Supervising Medical Director
Dr. Salahi is a general, vascular, and bariatric surgeon and offers his medical expertise to our staff in the areas of coding, protocol, and medical terminology. He was also our first satisfied client!
